These are 3.5mm African "Turquoise" beads strung into a short necklace or choker. Zoom in on the photos to get a good look at all the colors in these lovely beads. African turquoise is strung on beading wire and finished with a silver plated lobster style clasp and necklace tab. Finished necklace length is approximately 16 1/2 inches. African "Turquoise" is not turquoise stone. It is a type of jasper found in Africa and is sometimes dyed to achieve a turquoise-like color. Enhancing its role as a turquoise substitute is its matrix, which also resembles turquoise matrix.
